A variety of funding sources support the transportation programs in our area, such as: The Jackson and Vinton County Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Ohio Department of Transportation, American Cancer Society, Americans Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Some agencies are non-profit based and others are private owner profit based. If you meet eligibility requirements, your transportation may be reimbursed by one of the funding sources mentioned above and your transportation may be free.
Other programs supported by the Ohio Department of Transportation is the JARC (Job Access/Reverse Commute) program. This program is designed to help employed participants get to and from work if they do not have a car or their car not operating. This is a temporary assistance that allows the participant the opportunity to get established in their job and either purchase a vehicle or develop a carpool.
