Our Committee will go the extra mile to meet the critical transportation needs of the residents of Jackson & Vinton Counties to improve their quality of life.

Provider Information

Our Mission is to advise and advocate for improved coordinated transportation services for the residents, especially low-income, disabled and elderly.

 

Training Opportunities

The Vinton County Department of Job & Family Services will be offering First Aid/CPR classes on a regular basis.Call for availability.

Transportation providers must meet many requirements in order to provide safe transportation.

Required training for most programs are as follows:

DRIVE-Transporting elderly and disabled passengers,

PAT (Passenger Assistance Techniques),these include proper wheelchair securement,

Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens and fire extinguisher usage. Of course, there are other training programs required by the individual organizations that go above and beyond standard requirements.
